Gathering Guardian Components

Guardian Unlock Components

The various Guardian technologies require a lot of components. Wreckage and Sentinel Weapon Parts are straightforward to farm -- just pick up the bits that drop from destroyed Sentinels as you gather blueprint fragments. Need more? Restart the Guardian machine and kill them again.

The other types, though -- Technology Components, Power Cells, and Power Conduits -- may be less obvious. They drop from Destructible Panels scattered around the Guardian sites, and I don't like gathering them while I'm being shot at. This map is a reference for gathering these components without triggering any Sentinel combat. I use a DBX rigged for Guardian sites.

Travel to Synuefe NL-N C23-4 planet B3 to the Guardian Structure. Identify the Guardian machine "head" of the site (hexagon overlay) and, with the machine oriented "north" as shown, land "southeast" just outside the earthen berm (circle overlay). See the illustration below for the earthen berm both visible and on radar (the radar is overlaid once the ship is in landing orientation).

Point your ship away from the site so that your SRV has easier access; you'll be returning to the ship each time you need to log out.

The five Xs marked on the map are the angled towers with three destructible panels each. The drops are fixed and, as the Guardian Technology Component is the rarest drop on this drop table, the landing site is closest to the high-density spawn for that drop. Bring your SRV out, shoot and scoop the components you want, and then reboard your ship before logging out. The routes shown do not trigger Sentinels (this end of this site is pretty dead so long as the machine hasn't been activated).

Shown at left is the view on emerging from the indicated landing zone. An angled tower is to the right. To the left is a relic tower, which rises out of the ground as you approach -- it has an Ancient Relic useful for the Guardian machine, but you do not need to target it for this guide.

Important: You will have a 15-second danger logout and a warning about "being moved to a safe site". Your ship will not relocate, but your SRV will. You'll have an easier drive the next time if you come back in your ship, and you won't risk triggering a Sentinel by driving in through the perimeter.
